You heard the rumors. Now, get the facts. Verified news stories about upcoming films and television shows from John Horton (@jahorton13) & Kyle Pierson (@Area51ESD) on this special Black Friday edition of IN THE SPOTLIGHT (fb.com/inthespotlight).Since this episode was shot, there have been a number of news stories about RUSH HOUR 4, which we included as a "not happening" during the AI poster segment. However, even though many outlets are reporting that the film has officially been greenlit, it's STILL not "official." No one officially connected to the film has confirmed that it is being made. An unidentified "reported source" has stated that President Trump requested a sequel be made, so Paramount is making it happen. The same source also suggests that Brett Ratner will direct it, however Ratner still has a black eye in Hollywood from a half dozen sexual misconduct allegations. Ratner directed a soon-to-be-released documentary about Melania Trump, so that's the connection that could make RUSH HOUR 4 a possibility. But a script still needs to be written, not to mention deals with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker.
